How would a giant sloth look in Animal Jam
The giant ground sloth, also known as Megatherium is a member animal that costs 10 diamonds in the Diamond Shop and 150 Sapphires in the Sapphire shop.
It's mainly brown in color with a lighter underbelly, its face and back are dark gray, it has a reddish-brown mark in its back, it has white claws, it has blue eyes and its ears are pink and small.
Animations[]
- Play animation: It takes out a bag of pinecones and lays back while eating them, once it has finished eating, it will pull out a recycling trash bin and takes out another bag.
- Dance animation: It does "The Monkey" dance from ROBLOX.
- Hop animation: It lightly lifts off the ground with its arms and slams its rump against the ground.
- Sleep animation: It flops on the ground crossing its arms and using them as a pillow.

- Its name means "Great beast" in Greek.
- Giant ground sloths (Megatheres) are related to three-toed sloths (Bradypodidae).
- The Megatherium lived in what is now South America, although its close relative Eremotherium managed to cross the Panama Isthmus going as far north as the state of Georgia in the United States.
- It is thought that giant ground sloths lacked any sort of hair because of their size.
- Giant ground sloths occupied similar niches to rhinoceros and elephants in the Americas before the Great American Interchange when the Isthmus of Panama was formed.
- These animals crossed the Panama Isthmus in the Late Miocene epoch, the earliest known giant ground sloth in North America is Sibotherium ka which was found in modern day Costa Rica.
- Some species of giant ground sloth dug huge burrows, but their purpose has been unknown.
